Over the past few year, the Phoenix Wildlife Park (now Aquarium & Safari!) has been undergoing some serious renovations! Their entrance fee is now over $15 more than the city zoo (although you can always find coupons) - so I was very curious if these renovations made a difference to the park...so I went to see for myself.
Dad and Dan tagged along with me. My two favourite guys. Honestly, one of my happiest moment is with my dad doing kiddy things. We are both such big kids at heart, and I love sharing that with him. It makes me tear up even thinking about it. As I grow older, I am learning to cherish every moment with my parents - even when they were ridiculous hats like that in public. Bless.
The one thing I've always loved about the Wildlife park is the space the animals have. Yes, I know Zoo are not the greatest thing in the world, and maybe they are truly the worst, but I do enjoy them. But I can enjoy them, even more, when I feel like these little guys are being treated to as good of life as these places can offer them.
One of the newest parks in the part is the "Safari" zone. It is a massive new area where they have made super large enclosures for their real animals. They are all very well landscaped and make for a beautiful place to explore.
The other addition to the park in recent years is the Aquarium. It only seemed to be getting bigger! Every time I come there appears to be a new building. This is great since I think I love Aquariums even more than I love the zoo! So despite the big price tag - this place gives you two attractions for the price of one!
My favourite animal of the day was this little albino turtle with a missing fin. He was caught in a net in the wild and rehabilitated at the zoo here to swim perfectly with the rest of the fishes!
All-in-all, a splendid day out!
