This year, as the entire Lytwyn family headed up to the cottage over the summer, they stated a new tradition. "The Lytwyn Family Pig Road". My sister-in-laws brother had built his own meat smoker and has a lot of experience himself in hosting pig roasts. So he hauled his roaster all the way to Tiny Township and we helped him cook us a delicious pig!
The pig was a 60lbs boy and fresh from a local farm. We thanked him for his sacrifice for us and put him on the spit.
While the pig cooked, Dan and I headed out to the arcade for a few hours. We had hitched our bikes to the car and brought them along with us so we didn't have to take the car out everytime we went down to the beach or to the arcade.
The kids played games and we ate the succulent shredded pork which abosolutely fell off the bone.
Piglet cupcakes were one more thing that was wonderfully themed for the party.
Probably one of the funniest cakes I've ever seen...
It was Dan's birthday the week before, but we celebrated it all together over the weekend. I baked a Momofuku Birthday Cake cake for him, and we all sang happy birthday. I never even go a piece of the cake but was glad to hear that everyone else really enjoyed it.
Mila and I made S'mores for the first time and had a nice little chat by the fire before bed. It was a lovely end to a lovely weekend.
